Yoga Illumined Teacher Training & Immersion
Join us on South Padre Island, at Laguna Madre Yoga, for yoga teacher certification program and/or a yoga deep immersion .
A 200 hour yoga teacher training is designed for those who wish to be certified yoga instructors at the 200 hour instructor certification level.
For those who simply wish to deepen their practices and knowledge of yoga, the Yoga Immersion program will help deepen your practice and awareness.
Yoga Illumined Teacher Training
The Yoga Illumined Teacher Training is designed to provide all participants with the foundations of Yoga in order to teach and share the practice with others. Participants who complete all 200 hours // 185 classroom hours with Sumukhi (Kristina Lanuza), Aziza Charlotte Barker, Terra Lee Campise Volz and Special Guest Teachers along with 15 Hours of individual study will be granted a 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training Certificate that is honored by Yoga Alliance.
Prerequisites
- On-going, current practice of yoga
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Responsible and respectful of others
If you are not currently student of Laguna Madre Yoga, or not taking classes with our lead trainers, an interview (Zoom or in person) is required. The interview will be conducted by Sumukhi, Aziza and Terra.
If you have questions about whether or not you should apply here are some guidelines:
- If you are currently suffering or have been diagnosed with any physical or mental illnesses that would prevent you from fully participating in movements or interactions with fellow participants, we do not recommend applying to the Teacher Training program.
- For those in recovery from addictions, confer with your sponsor prior to applying and please disclose treatment/prognosis in the application (all information is confidential).
- People come to yoga because of its numerous physical, mental, spiritual and health benefits. We will only accept participants into the Yoga Teacher Training who have a strong, knowledgeable sense of self and personal boundaries as we are not equipped to work with those with extreme physical or mental health issues.

The two text above by Ramamurti S. Mishra (indicated by *) may be purchased online via anandabookstore.com or may be found via other online suppliers.
You may also bring copies of the Yoga Sutras from various translators, but we will be chanting the sutras in Sanskrit and reviewing translations together in class.

Yoga Immersion
The Immersion part of the Training, is perfect for anyone who would like to deepen their knowledge and practice of yoga. The Yoga Illumined Immersion series is open to all who would like learn more about yoga without having to receive certification to teach.
Please note that as we will not issue certificates for the Immersion series there is no need to fill out an application form. If you are looking to earn credit towards on-going Yoga teacher certification (YACEP), we can discuss your circumstances individually.
Anyone looking for Yoga Alliance Continuing Education should complete the immersion signup process and discuss CE with the instructor.
Fees, Payment etc.
YTT Fees
Yoga Teacher Training Total is $3,300. We will collect payments only after we have received your application and you have been accepted officially into the program. Once you are accepted you may make payments to either Yoga Illumined, Laguna Madre Yoga, or Terra Volz. We accept credit card, check, debit and payment plans which must be paid in full up to 12 months from the start of the program (November 2022 – October 2023).
- A non-refundable down Payment of $360 for the Yoga Teacher training is due upon acceptance into the program.
- Applications must be received by October 28, 2022.
- Fees are non-refundable.
Immersion Fees
The full immersion program is $1,200 for 9 Saturdays – 8 hours each day // 9-12 noon // 1-4 pm // 6:30-8:30 pm
Drop-in’s for individual Saturday sessions is $135 per day.

YTT Schedule November 2022 – July 2023
Program held over nine weekends, Saturday & Sunday, plus weekly Wednesday Online Session; Pranayama (Breathwork & Meditation). Led by Aziza, 30 minutes at 7:00 am.
Weekend 1: November 12 & 13 – What is Yoga? Introduction to the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali and the foundations of teaching Hatha Yoga
Weekend 2: January 14 & 15, 2023 – The 8 Limbs of Yoga
Weekend 3: February 11 & 12 – The Fundamentals of Yoga, How to Inspire and Influence
Weekend 4: March 4 & 5 – Movement and Breath, The Importance of Shavasana/Pratyahara practices
Weekend 5 & 6: April 15-23, M-F YTT-only Teacher Training Practicum
M-F Schedule 9 am classes at Laguna Madre Yoga Studio – 6 pm with 1 hour lunch break – Teachers will practice teaching one another and invited guests, graduates of previous Yoga Illumined Training.
